Beginning Leather Project 

Black Butte 4H Beginning Leather Project

Have you ever wondered what a 4-H leather project consists of ? 
I will explain what we do at Black Butte 4-H.

• We meet twice a month for our project meeting.
• You can purchase tools and projects by mail order from Tandy Leather  Company, who gives a 4-H discount. 
• Our club also has some tools available to use at meetings.
• Our project members have learned how to trace a pattern onto leather, have used a swivel knife and are learning how to use a different tool at each meeting. 
• We will also learn how to lace projects together.
       

The young beginners will be stamping easy projects-such as  zipper pulls, key fobs, coin pouches, ID wallets etc.

The older members who have had some experience will be using a swivel knife, and be doing more complicated  projects, such as, wallets, knife cases, small purses etc. 

A certain amount of  patience and hand eye coordination are needed.
